Director of Project Finance
Talisman is a company focused on renewable energy, seeking a Director of Project Finance to lead financial analysis and valuation of distributed generation projects. The role involves building and optimizing financial models, supporting investment decisions, and collaborating with various teams to drive transaction execution.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and refine detailed project finance models for DG solar and storage projects at various stages of development
Perform valuation analyses for greenfield, brownfield, and acquisition opportunities using DCF, IRR, and sensitivity methodologies
Model cash flows under different scenarios, including capital structure variations, PPA structures, merchant exposure, and incentive mechanisms
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of key project inputs—CAPEX, OPEX, interconnection costs, degradation, and performance assumptions
Ensure modeling accuracy and consistency with company standards and investor requirements
Partner closely with the Structured Finance team to prepare projects for financing, providing valuation support and sensitivity analyses
Support term sheet negotiations by assessing impacts on project returns, capital costs, and risk allocation
Prepare financial materials, investment memos, and presentations for internal investment committees and external investors
Collaborate with legal, technical, and development teams to ensure all key assumptions align with commercial realities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
8–12 years of experience in project finance, investment analysis, or renewable energy development
Deep expertise in financial modeling and valuation for distributed generation or utility-scale renewable assets
Strong understanding of project economics, PPA structures, and capital cost drivers
Familiarity with renewable energy tax incentives, including ITC/PTC
Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills
Collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
