Responsibilities

Lead and manage a high-performing engineering team of approximately 7–10 engineers across backend, frontend, and mobile disciplines
Own the technical strategy and architectural direction for a core document verification product used by enterprise customers
Partner closely with Product, Data Science, Infrastructure, and other cross-functional leaders to define roadmaps and deliver new capabilities
Drive scalable, secure, and reliable systems leveraging cloud infrastructure and modern AI/ML techniques
Maintain a hands-on leadership approach: reviewing designs, guiding technical decisions, and setting a high bar for engineering quality
Mentor and develop engineers, fostering growth, accountability, and a strong team culture
Translate business goals into technical execution while balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability

Required

10+ years of professional software development experience
5+ years in engineering leadership or people management roles
Proven experience leading full-stack engineering teams (backend, frontend, and/or mobile)
Strong background in designing and scaling production systems in cloud environments
Experience collaborating with product and data teams in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives from concept to production

Preferred

Experience working on AI/ML-powered systems; exposure to computer vision is a strong plus
Background in identity verification, fraud detection, fintech, security, or regulated industries
Familiarity with modern backend and frontend technologies such as Java, Scala, Go, React, or TypeScript
Experience operating systems on AWS and/or GCP
Prior experience in high-growth startup or scale-up environments
