Responsibilities

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize analytics requirements; define KPIs, metrics, and data models
Design, build, and maintain Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards using DAX, Power Query (M), and optimized data models; manage publishing and workspace content
Write and optimize SQL queries and views; partner with Business Intelligence Developer to build efficient ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Azure Data Factory
Apply dimensional modeling techniques (star/snowflake schemas) and data warehousing best practices for scalable, high-performance solutions
Configure row-level security, data refresh schedules, gateway configurations, and performance optimizations (e.g., aggregations, incremental refresh) for BI assets
Develop and maintain data governance artifacts, including business glossaries, data dictionaries, and documentation to ensure data quality and trust
Perform exploratory data analysis and statistical profiling to validate data, detect anomalies, and recommend corrective actions
Deliver insights through presentations and storytelling and create executive-ready visuals tailored to business audiences
Promote self-service analytics by creating certified datasets, reusable templates, training materials, and providing user support
Monitor BI product adoption and usage; gather feedback and iterate using Agile practices
Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards; follow change control and release management processes
Support ad-hoc analysis, data investigations, and cross-functional initiatives as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree is Information Technology, Business Analytics, Computer Science or related fields, or a combination of education and experience
2-5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or business analysis
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI (Desktop and Service), including DAX, Power Query (M), data modeling, and performance optimization
Strong SQL skills (e.g., T-SQL) and experience with relational databases
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling (Kimball), ETL/ELT patterns, and data governance principles
Ability to translate business questions into metrics and analytics solutions; strong data storytelling and visualization skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including comfort with exploratory data analysis and basic statistical techniques
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to work effectively across IT and business teams
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel in-state

Preferred

Familiarity with Azure data services
Experience with project management tools (Jira preferred)
Experience in membership-based organizations
