Responsibilities

Develop and Implement Pricing Strategies: Ensure Foodland maintains its competitive edge by working with our Sales team to design, manage and execute pricing strategies that balance value and profitability across all store locations
Optimize Pricing Operations: Provide strategic guidance on pricing interactions with merchandising, marketing, and operations to enhance profit margins while maintaining customer trust
Support Pricing Systems: Oversee and guide the implementation of new pricing systems and analytics that provide buyers with suggested pricing and that these tools are integrated effectively into daily operations. Ensure systems and reports are accurate and efficient; and that labels, price tags, and POS pricing reflects accurately. Oversee item creation and maintenance. Manage the execution of promotions
Analyze Market and Competitive Data: Regularly review industry trends, competitor pricing, inflationary impacts, and other external factors to refine pricing strategies
Monitor and Adjust Pricing Performance: Track and assess sales, margin trends, and promotional effectiveness to ensure alignment with Foodland’s financial objectives
Lead and Develop a Pricing Team: Build and mentor a team responsible for implementing pricing best practices, maintaining system integrity, and providing targeted support to address specific company and sales team needs
Establishing competitive price points that drive sales while enhancing Foodland’s brand loyalty
Identifying strategic pricing adjustments based on competitive insights and market conditions
Collaborating with senior leaders to align pricing with merchandising, promotions, and store operations
Ensuring the pricing team supports the reliability and accuracy of new pricing systems and provides specialized assistance to address evolving business needs
Developing training programs to enhance pricing knowledge and system usage among team members and cross-functional partners

Required

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field
5+ years of experience in merchandising, retail pricing, operations management, finance, marketing, or a related field, OR 7+ years of relevant experience
2+ years of supervisory experience leading teams

Preferred

Master's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
Experience in financial planning, strategic pricing, and retail merchandising
Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to pricing decisions
Knowledge of the Hawaii retail market and customer purchasing behaviors
