Responsibilities

Perform roofing system inspections, QA/QC observations, and installation monitoring
Conduct facility condition assessments and Property Condition Assessments (PCA)
Inspect canopies, overhangs, façades, and exterior building elements
Evaluate roof and envelope distress including leaks, wind damage, and material failures
Perform IBC Chapter 17 Special Inspections (structural steel, fireproofing, concrete, masonry, soils)
Document findings through written reports and photo documentation
Support repair, replacement, and capital planning recommendations

Qualification

ICC Special Inspector certificationRegistered Roof Observer (RRO)AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)Facility inspections experienceComputer proficiencyMS Office knowledgeCommunication skillsOrganizational skillsTeamwork ability

Required

At least one ICC Special Inspector certification
Willingness to obtain additional certifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license and ability to travel
Ability to work safely on roofs and construction sites

Preferred

Registered Roof Observer (RRO)
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Multiple ICC Special Inspector certifications
Experience with existing-building or facility inspections
