Responsibilities
Build the Dream Team: Recruit, mentor, and ignite a team of underwriters. You'll own the culture of career development and high-performance standards
Drive the P&L: Take full authority over the department's budget and profitability. You'll analyze metrics to find the "hidden gems" in our data and pivot strategies for maximum ROI
Innovate the Product: Don't just follow trends—set them. You will design product enhancements and market-leading solutions that ensure long-term sustainability and top-line growth
Master the Ecosystem: Manage elite carrier and agency relationships. You'll oversee carrier audits and ensure we are hitting (and exceeding) premium targets across all markets
Optimize the Engine: Partner with IT to transform our policy systems into a seamless, high-speed underwriting machine
Qualification
Required
10+ years in insurance
at least 5 years in staff management
at least 5 years in carrier-side underwriting
proven track record of opening doors with independent agencies
building a book of business from the ground up
deep financial acumen
mastering rate-making, pricing concepts, and risk management across diverse geographies
Microsoft Office power user
leans into new software to solve complex problems and automate the mundane
influential leader who can facilitate high-stakes meetings
motivates teams to deliver excellence under tight deadlines
active relevant licenses
