Business Development Manager

RRP Consulting Engineers LLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives in the water and transportation infrastructure sectors. This role will drive sales, lead proposal development, manage key client relationships, and oversee marketing efforts across Texas.

Responsibilities

Identify and pursue new business opportunities in water and transportation infrastructure
Build and maintain strong relationships with public sector clients and industry partners
Serve as Key Account Manager for select clients, nurturing and expanding relationships
Lead proposal development and manage pursuit strategies to secure new contracts
Oversee marketing initiatives and ensure consistent brand positioning
Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline to meet growth targets
Collaborate with internal teams to align business development with operational capabilities
Represent RRP at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
Monitor market trends and provide strategic insights to leadership
Lead and participate in key pursuits and teaming strategies
Promote the company at professional associations, society meetings, and tradeshows

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of business development experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry
Strong knowledge of regional infrastructure markets, particularly in transportation and water
Established relationships with government agencies, private sector entities, and the consulting community
Proven success in securing public sector contracts (RFQs/RFPs)
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strategic thinker with a focus on tactical execution
Effective team-building and collaboration skills; thrives in a highly collaborative environment
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities
Existing network of consulting firms and contractors to support teaming opportunities
Experience in proposal writing and marketing strategy
Self-starter with a proactive and results-driven mindset
Willingness to travel regionally as needed

Preferred

advanced degree or P.E. license is a plus
Active involvement in professional societies and industry/community organizations
Familiarity with Texas public agency procurement processes
