City and County of Honolulu is seeking Civil Engineers for the Department of Facility Maintenance, specifically in the Storm Water Quality Division. Responsibilities
Professional engineering projects related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Storm Water Management Program
Planning, design, construction management, product evaluation, research & development, system optimization, database management, and Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping
These positions may also involve participation in periodic and temporary cross training and supplementary work exercises and activities in support of other branches within the division to comply with its regulatory obligations of the City's storm water permit
Qualification
Required
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty
Two year(s) of non-registered professional civil engineering experience
Such Experience Shall Demonstrate Knowledge Of civil engineering principles and practices; engineering mathematics; engineering mechanics and the mechanics of materials; and hydraulic, structural, mechanical, electrical and sanitary engineering principles to the extent that these apply to the general field of civil engineering
Such Experience Must Also Demonstrate The Ability To do civil engineering design work or supervise construction and inspection activities; analyze stresses and determine the required foundations and structural features; supervise a small group of subordinate professional or subprofessional employees; and prepare engineering and inspection reports
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license, as required
