Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day cryptographic operations to “keep the engine running,” enabling SMEs to focus on strategic initiatives
Manage the full lifecycle of certificates and cryptographic keys across enterprise environments
Support externally facing and internal certificate infrastructure
Maintain and operate certificate discovery and inventory tools
Handle symmetric and asymmetric key management within AWS and enterprise systems
Execute routine operational tasks, incident response, and remediation related to encryption and certificates
Collaborate with security and engineering teams to support post-quantum cryptography initiatives and future POCs
Write and maintain automation scripts to streamline crypto and certificate operations
Work on a mix of project work and operational tickets, tracking tasks and progress in JIRA
Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical teams on cryptographic concepts and issues
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of cryptography fundamentals (PKI, encryption, certificates, keys) with the ability to explain concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Hands-on experience with certificate lifecycle management (issuance, rotation, renewal, revocation)
Experience managing externally facing and internal certificates
Knowledge of key management, including: Symmetric keys (especially within AWS), PGP keys
Familiarity with AWS security services related to encryption and key management
Experience performing routine operational security tasks (certificate discovery, inventory, monitoring)
Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShell (language flexibility is acceptable; programming fundamentals are key)
Ability to work in a ticket-driven environment using tools like JIRA
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an operations mindset
