Responsibilities

You will analyze aircraft performance problems for transport-category aircraft within the NC3 business area
You will plan, execute, and report aircraft performance analysis and reporting efforts to support other engineering disciplines
You will present engineering findings and results to internal teams, leadership, and customers
You will assist with wind tunnel test planning, execution, and reporting
You will assist with flight test planning and data reduction

Required

Bachelor's of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Experience generating aircraft performance estimates from handbook methods, computational data, and/or test data
Experience reducing wind tunnel data and flight test data to show compliance to aircraft performance regulatory guidance
Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred

Understanding of aircraft external loads, stability and control
Familiarity with wind tunnel and aircraft flight test
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Understanding of system-level static and dynamic modeling and simulation
Exposure to aircraft stability principles and control system design and analysis
Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics
Exposure to engineering simulation tools such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Vortex Lattice Models (VLM) such as STAR-CCM+ and VLAERO+
Experience showing compliance to aircraft performance requirements for 14 CFR Part 25 Type Certificate (TC) or Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) programs
