Litigation Associate

They are seeking a full-time Litigation Associate to handle cases in all phases of litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings, attending hearings, and assisting with trial preparation.

Responsibilities

Manage and support matters in all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation strategy, pleadings, discovery, law and motion practice, trial preparation, and post-trial proceedings
Draft high-quality pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and settlement-related documents
Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on complex business and entertainment-related disputes
Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial
Appear at hearings, case management conferences, mediations, and arbitrations
Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit preparation, witness outlines, and coordination with experts
Collaborate closely with partners, senior associates, and clients to develop litigation strategy and manage cases efficiently
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third-party vendors
Support matters involving entertainment industry clients, including disputes relating to contracts, intellectual property, production, and distribution, as well as general commercial and business litigation matters

Required

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in business and/or entertainment litigation
Experience drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and client-focused approach
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team

Preferred

Deposition experience (taking and/or defending) strongly preferred
