Financial Controller
GPAC is a reputable construction firm seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join their team. The role involves managing financial and accounting functions, overseeing office operations, and collaborating with leadership on strategic planning and budgeting.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly financial statements to 3rd party CPA firm
Collaborate with leadership to review financial statements and create budgets, ensuring fiscal health and responsibility
Oversee the monthly job cost report process and update work-in-progress reports for internal and external use
Prepare the annual financial budget and update forecasts quarterly
Assist in strategic planning with the leadership team, including due diligence and financial projections for growth opportunities
Oversee accounts receivable progress billings based on contract terms
Review accounts receivable aging reports and assist with collections
Supervise vendor and subcontractor payments, ensuring lien waivers are properly collected
Monitor daily cash balances to ensure financial requirements are met
Prepare weekly payroll for employees
Supervise the Front Desk Administrative Assistant
Manage IT-related issues and become proficient in QuickBooks, ProCore, and Levelset
Perform special assignments as directed by the leadership team
Review and procure business and health insurance programs for all entities
Maintain insurance and risk protection programs, including builders' risk policies
Assist in managing the company's IRA or 401(k) plan and other employee benefits
Prepare construction subcontractor contract schedules and assist Project Managers with contract management
Meet with the company's bankers and bonding company to review financial results and forecasts
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in financial management, preferably within the construction industry
Proficiency in QuickBooks, ProCore, and Levelset, or the ability to quickly become proficient
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage both financial and office management tasks
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the leadership team
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
