Akkodis is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer for a contract job with a client in Alpharetta, GA. The role involves designing, coding, testing, and implementing changes across mainframe applications, while collaborating in a global team environment.

Responsibilities

Design, code, test, and implement changes across mainframe applications

Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, build, testing, and deployment

Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2

Write and enhance Python components as part of integrated development work

Engage in technical, architectural, and design discussions with cross‑functional engineering teams

Collaborate in a global virtual team environment, working closely with team members in New York and India

Troubleshoot production issues, implement fixes, and optimize system performance

Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and project timelines

Required

Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and Python

Ability to work in a global collaborative environment

Experience writing and maintaining Python components

Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities
