Senior Manager, Accounting and Tax

Responsibilities

Drive the evolution of the AP department by leveraging Concur and other emerging technologies to automate workflows and enhance reporting
Act as a dedicated partner to Operations, resolving complex vendor/internal issues with a focus on 'high-touch' service
Act as the primary gatekeeper for organizational policies, professionally managing conflicts and enforcing compliance with poise and firmness
Lead the administration of the Taxport system; oversee international tax withholdings and act as the subject matter expert for 1099 and 1042 filings
Manage Sales and Use tax filings across New York, Florida, and California, ensuring the organization stays ahead of changing regulations
Proactively support annual audit, as needed and manage other tax audits if they arise
Dedicate time to staying current on your areas of responsibility
Oversee month-end reconciliations (Amex BTA, EP3) and provide support for accruals and general ledger functions
Serve as Joint System Administrator for JP Morgan Access; manage wire releases and credit card program adherence to ensure strict segregation of duties
Take an active, hands-on role during the US Open, this may include direct financial interaction with professional players in the Purser’s Office and managing real-time payment cycles in a fast-paced environment

Required

Bachelor's Degree: Required in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Leadership Depth: 7–10 years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable or Corporate Accounting, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or management capacity
Tax Expertise: Experience filing Sales and Use Tax (specifically NY, FL, and CA) and preferred familiarity with 1099/1042-S reporting
Solid understanding of accounting regulations, policies, and procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with windows-based accounting software
Highly meticulous with excellent organizational and analytical skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to lead multiple tasks effectively
Exceptional communication and social skills to cultivate team collaboration and engage with external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, government agencies)
High level of integrity and accountability
Proven ability to oversee and empower payroll and administrative teams, fostering a positive and efficient work environment
Capable of handling audits, responding to government inquiries, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment, especially during high-demand events like the US Open
Willingness to provide support during organizational events and collaborate on cross-departmental projects
