Lean Manufacturing Intern
Parker Hannifin is a leader in developing technologies for sustainable flight and is seeking a Lean Engineering Intern to support their business in Kalamazoo, MI. The intern will learn about the Parker Lean System and assist in various continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and cost performance in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
Assist in mapping current processes (value stream mapping, process flowcharting) and identifying waste in production and office environments
Support kaizen events and problem-solving activities using standard Parker Lean System tools (e.g., 5S, standard work, visual management, root cause analysis, PDCA)
Collect, analyze, and summarize operational data (cycle times, defects, WIP, on-time delivery) to quantify improvement opportunities and track results
Help develop and maintain Lean documentation such as standard work instructions, visual controls, and performance boards
Partner with operations, quality, engineering, supply chain, and EH&S to implement improvements that are practical, safe, and aligned with customer and regulatory requirements
Prepare presentations and status updates on improvement activities for supervisors and cross-functional teams
Ensure that safety and quality are maintained when implementing changes
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing bachelor's in manufacturing engineering, Aerospace, or related engineering field
Candidate shall have completed sophomore year with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
