Responsibilities

Completes Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
Provides ongoing training and oversight to Direct Support Professional (DSPs)
Makes appropriate and accurate clinical decisions based on data collected through behavior intervention plan procedures and other assessments
Engages in regular consultation with PRC teams to ensure comprehensive and appropriate care for people in services
Participates in Community Support Team (CST) meetings, Human Rights Committee (HRC) meetings, and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings when needed and appropriate
Staying current on physical management and de-escalation training
Attending training relevant to behavior and psych team members
Developing and providing behavior analytic training to PRC staff members
Attending and participating in relevant meetings within PRC and with community providers/members
Position must travel to remote work sites and may transport the individuals served
Attending and participating in psychiatric appointments/clinics

Required

Eight (8) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position equal to eight (8) years
BCBA certified, actively enrolled in a (BACB) verified course sequence Program, or ability to sit and pass the exam within 1 year of hire. Inability to do so may result in termination
Full Background CDHS employees (all Direct contact with vulnerable persons): CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services), Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults – Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)
This position requires State of Colorado residency at the time of application (unless otherwise identified in the posting), and residency within the state throughout the duration of employment in this position
Motor Vehicle Check, if the employee will drive a state-owned vehicle, either in an on-going capacity while performing their normal day-to-day job duties OR on occasion for training/meetings/client visits/etc
Must possess a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver's License or a non-restricted U.S. Driver's License for positions within 30 miles of the CO state border
Must demonstrate the ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, squat, etc. and perform physical interventions proficiently throughout employment

Preferred

Master's degree from an accredited institution in counseling, psychology, social work or behavior analysis
Nationally certified as a “Board Certified Behavior Analyst” (BCBA) or certified by a similar nationally recognized organization or licensed by the State Board of Examiners
Two (2) years of directly supervised experience developing and implementing behavioral support plans utilizing established approaches including Behavioral Analysis or Positive Behavioral Supports that are consistent with best practice and research on effectiveness for individuals with developmental disabilities
