PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER 1 or 2 (LSEM)

The State of Louisiana is seeking a Public Information Officer 1 or 2 to drive the communications strategy for the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling tours and special events, working independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders, and managing marketing efforts including social media.

Responsibilities

Scheduling and leading tours
Scheduling and coordinating special events
Experience in marketing to include social media (preferable)
Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with schools, teachers, support groups, and museum staff
Occasional work outside of normal schedule (evenings and weekends)

Required

Three years of experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, content creation, social media management, or graphic design; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field
Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with schools, teachers, support groups, and museum staff
Occasional work outside of normal schedule (evenings and weekends)

Preferred

Experience in marketing to include social media (preferable)
