Los Angeles Education Partnership is seeking a Social Media Support to enhance their social media presence. The role involves content creation, engagement with followers, and executing social media campaigns to promote CORE's impact.

Responsibilities

Develop, refine, and execute a social media strategy for the CORE team with clearly articulated goals and metrics
Establish an updated brand for CORE’s social media presence
Collaborate with team members and partners to generate content
Maintain, at minimum, an agreed upon schedule for posting and social media engagement
Provide periodic updates to share the data related to our social media accounts and progress towards agreed upon goals and metrics
Attend team meetings when the content is applicable
Coordinate with the person responsible for conference marketing and communications to align conference specific social media content
Attend CORE’s conference March 5th, 6th, and 7th (Lodging and meals during the event will be provided) to capture and promote social media content
Create 2–3 visual graphics per week for Instagram and LinkedIn using brand-approved templates
Draft engaging captions that reflect LAEP’s voice and are tailored specifically to the audiences on each platform
Use scheduling tools to ensure a consistent social media presence and engage with community comments
Research and identify Los Angeles-based and national education reporters at outlets like LAist, LA Times, and EdWeek
Maintain an organized database of media contacts, tracking their recent coverage to ensure outreach is personalized
Draft and send "intro" pitches to help secure media opportunities that highlight LAEP’s impact
Source submission guidelines and editorial calendars for trade publications and educational websites
Identify "Write for Us" opportunities or "Letters to the Editor" sections for the Leadership Team
Draft "pitch blurbs" for articles to help our leaders share their expertise on educational equity and community schools

Required

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Canva
Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
Ability to monitor engagement and understand basic social data/metrics
Basic understanding of content trends and algorithms
Effective Communication: strong written and verbal communication skills to engage audience
Experience in Marketing and Communications (via internships, personal projects)
