Shamrock Engineering and Automation is hiring an experienced machinist to take full ownership of a dedicated Okuma Vertical Turret Lathe machining thin-walled stainless steel components. The right candidate will manage the full process from setup to inspection and collaborate with engineering for tooling and process improvements.

Responsibilities

Operate and own a dedicated Okuma VTL producing thin-walled parts
Manage the full process: setup, machining, inspection, maintenance, and tooling
Maintain dimensional control and surface finish on distortion-sensitive parts
Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
Collaborate with engineering on tooling, fixturing, and process improvements
Drive consistency, quality, and continuous improvement over the life of the program

Qualification

CNC lathe experienceOkuma VTL experienceMachining thin-walled componentsWorkholding knowledgeCutting dynamics understandingDimensional controlProcess ownershipCollaboration with engineeringRoutine machine maintenance

Required

Strong understanding of workholding, deflection control, and cutting dynamics
Ability to hold tight tolerances
Comfortable owning a process independently

Preferred

Proven experience machining thin-walled components
CNC lathe experience preferred; Okuma VTL experience preferred
