Principal Systems Engineer (onsite)
Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to work on site in Colorado Springs, CO. This role involves leading the design, integration, and testing of advanced algorithms, providing mentorship to junior engineers, and serving as a liaison with internal leadership and external customers.

Responsibilities
Serve as the lead the design, integration, and testing of advanced algorithms including tracking, tasking, and reasoning in a high-performance command and control setting
Lead the development and validation of complex models and simulations, including sensor capabilities and system-wide behavior
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
Provide technical expertise and assessment to program leadership and the software engineering team
Support test events, with particular responsibility for algorithm configuration and performance
Serve as a senior liaison with internal leadership and external customers, representing the program in reviews. technical interchange meetings. and stakeholder briefings
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Experience applying extensive expertise; solves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity; work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long time perspective; erroneous decisions would normally result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives; may function in project leadership roles and represents the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts
Experience with C2BMC Next Program and Global task order
Active and transferable U.S. government issued TOP SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. (with SCI eligibility)
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Experience working with Missile Defense Agency. Previous experience on the C2BMC Program
Experience evaluating process and product performance: interface with engineering counterparts to ensure all deliverables meet contractual and regulatory requirements
Experience supervising product development lifecycle activities-including requirements allocation, architecture definition, design. integration. test. and acceptance-providing strategic oversight and risk mitigation
