Financial Manager
Responsibilities
Drive financial strategy, manage comprehensive accounting operations, and oversee a rigorous audit program
Oversee all standard accounting processes, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll, bank reconciliations, and the timely preparation of financial statements
Manage the extensive accounting calendar and schedules, ensuring compliance regarding trademarks and domain names
Supervise the Staff Accountant and Office Manager
Review, sign off and present accurate month-end financial statements to senior management and board members, explaining reasons for any significant variances
Assist CPA firm with Year End Tax Accounting
Monitor compliance with internal policies, procedures, and controls to maintain and enforce strict technical compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable regulatory requirements for private business
Monitor all Trademark renewals & Custodian of Family Legacy (IP violations)
Develop and manage a regular audit schedule for all License Partners (drums and guitars), ensuring all audit balances are collected promptly
Manage all document filing and controls required by IRS regulations for audits
Engage in and lead the annual budget process, conduct periodic forecasting, and perform insightful financial analysis on daily business operations and License Partners' performance
Engage with Senior Management to ensure the business adheres to the established yearly budget
Mitigate risk for Business and family’s wealth
Build out and lead the accounting team, providing ongoing staff development, coaching, and leadership
Oversee daily financial operations and direct supervision of accounting staff
Manage payroll for hourly staff and maintain all required payroll and Human Resources (H/R) records
Oversee all business insurance policies, including renewals, Workman’s Comp, Liability, Umbrella, Property, and Health plans
Manage all sales tax and property tax reporting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance is required
Demonstrated Strategic Financial Leadership
Ten years of accounting experience
Experience in brand management or a family office with multiple entities
The ability to balance the roles of Financial Expert, Strategic Advisor and counselor in a unique family business environment
Preferred
MBA or equivalent experience is preferred
CPA is a plus
