Responsibilities
Performing on-site and remote supplier oversight to ensure compliance with technical and quality requirements
Managing the day-to-day activities of the Supplier Quality staff including hiring, training, performance evaluation, etc
Prepares and issues Supplier Quality surveillance assignments for execution by the assigned Supplier Quality Specialists and reviews/approves resulting reports
Facilitates communication between on and off project personnel across disciplines; directs assigned Supplier Quality Specialists
Participates in resolution of technical and quality issues arising from area/shop Supplier Quality activities including monitoring of dispositions and corrections made to assure documented evidence of satisfactory closeout
Plan and perform Supplier and Internal Audits as a Lead Auditor
Perform general assessment and critique of nuclear quality programs and assessments
Work with Supply Chain management to resolve technical and quality deficiencies with Suppliers quality oversight of critical procurements to meet project milestones and schedules
Ensuring personal, industrial, and nuclear safety is a core aspect of daily work
Fostering Nuclear Safety Culture Traits and Human Performance Tools both internally at TerraPower and with suppliers
Attends specific shop visits such as initial visits, in-process surveillances performing Supplier Quality Specialist witness and hold points, or inspection activities at the shop
Plan and perform commercial grade surveys of commercial suppliers
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline, business, management, or quality assurance field
10+ years' experience in a nuclear (NRC, DOE) Quality function
10+ years' experience managing QA/QC personnel
Current certification as NQA-1 Lead Auditor
Extensive experience working with or managing suppliers in manufacturing/fabrication environments
Thorough understanding of surveillance, supplier quality, process qualifications, welding, inspections, QC data package reviews, etc
QA experience in NRC 10 CFR 50, Appendix B regulated environment
Working knowledge of NQA-1 requirements
Strong background in auditing
Preferred
Current Lead Auditor certification preferred or with the ability to become a Lead Auditor
Experience with industry codes, standards and guides such as ASME, ASNT, AWS, AISC, ASTM, EPRI, NEI, ISO, NEC and IEEE
