Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and support to municipalities and school boards on various issues. Essentially acting as general counsel for these public entities
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements to protect the interests of the municipality
Advise on zoning matters and assist in the development and enforcement of zoning ordinances
Assist in the preparation and review of resolutions and ordinances for municipal meetings
Represent the municipality in public hearings and other legal proceedings related to municipal law
Conduct research and stay updated on legal developments in municipal law and related areas
Facilitate public meetings and ensure compliance with open meetings laws and regulations
Collaborate with other legal and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with applicable laws
Qualification
Required
Barred in NJ
2+ years of experience in municipal law or a related field
Strong knowledge of contracts, zoning, and regulatory compliance issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to handle public meetings and hearings effectively
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa
