Responsibilities
Contribute original design ideas and creative problem-solving throughout all phases of residential projects, from early concept through construction
Support the production of design, construction, and construction administration documents in alignment with firm standards and direction from senior leadership
Coordinate and communicate with clients, consultants, and contractors to produce detailed architectural documentation
Research, select, and detail materials that align with design intent and comply with applicable codes and regulations
Develop schematic designs that demonstrate solutions to the project program and architectural criteria
Prepares presentation materials that clearly and compellingly communicate design ideas and proposals
Proactively manage multiple tasks across concurrent projects while meeting established schedules and deadlines
Qualification
Required
B.Arch or M.Arch from an accredited program
6-8 years of professional architectural experience with strong residential design experience
Strong design instincts with the skill to transform conceptual ideas into thoughtful architectural solutions
A design-forward mindset, led by curiosity, creativity, and a dedication to high-quality residential work
Passion for residential design, a growth mindset, and an entrepreneurial approach to contributing to the firm's technical and professional development
Ability to work independently, proactively manage multiple priorities, and exercise sound judgment
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with strong communication skills
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign and Photoshop)
Strong understanding of construction documentation, wood-frame construction, and residential detailing
Preferred
Professional licensure or active pursuit of licensure preferred
Working knowledge of Revit is a plus
Hand drawing and sketching skills are a plus
Knowledge of other applicable design and project management programs beneficial
Exposure to or experience with sustainability practices (passive house, LEED, WELL standards) is a plus
