Responsibilities
Design and develop enclosures for electronic systems, including:
+ Outdoor Camera enclosures (optical & thermal)
+ Outdoor and industrial-grade housings (battery, solar controllers etc)
Select materials and manufacturing methods across:
+ Aluminum, steel, stainless steel
+ Plastics and composites
+ Additive and subtractive processes
Design for environmental durability:
+ Dust, moisture, temperature, vibration
Collaborate closely with EE and RF teams to ensure:
+ Thermal Performance
+ Antenna placement and RF transparency
Support prototyping, testing, and production handoff
Qualification
Required
3+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience
Strong experience with enclosure design for electronics
Working knowledge of IP ratings (IP65, IP66, IP67, etc.) and related standards
Experience designing parts for CNC machining
Experience designing parts for sheet metal
Experience designing parts for injection molding
Experience designing parts for 3D printing
Proficiency with modern CAD tools (currently in Fusion 360)
Preferred
Experience designing camera enclosures involving optical windows
Experience designing camera enclosures involving thermal viewports (thermal camera)
Experience designing camera enclosures involving thermal isolation
Experience designing camera enclosures involving lens alignment and sealing
Experience designing around wireless systems inside enclosures
Familiarity with FCC / CE / regional certification processes
Familiarity with industrial or hazardous-location environments (C1D2, C1D1)
