Project Manager

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of project scope, including ensure interests of IE, customer, and any engineering or other intermediaries are met
Take overall responsibility for schedule performance and on-time delivery
Develop project approach, including conceptual sketches, general arrangement drawings, and basic one-line electrical diagrams; prepare 'job traveler'
Confirm project schedule (approved by master scheduler) meets customer needs; flag and address any potential production schedule issues
Ensure all documentation – commercial, technical, quality, logistics/shipping – is appropriately provided
Conduct post job review: ensure all Epicor details are accurate including materials issues and job profitability
Take overall responsibility for maximizing job profitability; manager customer and supplier related issues regarding changes in project scope, cost, and change orders
Engage with customers on all technical questions
Manage approval process for all required customer approvals, including drawings; communicate to customer if customer is holding up process and timeline will be impacted
Consult with regional sales manager on customer 'scope' disagreements/change orders. Jointly develop proposal for handling
Proactively manage customer change order process and documentation; limit IE risk/exposure by receiving updated POs before proceeding with significant adders
Follow customer experience handbook processes including post project follow-ups
Coordinate all commissioning, field support, or warranty requirements
Advise on lead times with quotes and product orders
Recommend design and specifications based on customer application
Provide commissioning and field support on projects as required
Respond to emergency service calls, in and out of assigned region, as required; trouble shoot problems
Review high profile quotes with cost estimator and check for accuracy
Develop strategic sales strategies with cost estimators and sales managers to increase sales
Develop cost estimation standards for Intermountain Electronics
Assists Application Engineers as needed
Maintains regular and consistent job attendance
Follows and complies with IE Core Values
Must be able to travel 25% of time
Promotes and complies with IE safety program

Required

Associates Degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electricity or closely related field, plus three years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years of electrical assembly, design, and/or cost estimating in the electrical distribution industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong interpersonal/customer relation skills
Must have deep understanding of electrical distribution equipment, standards, and specifications
Experience with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum, change orders, etc
Self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision
Confident with the ability to work closely with employees, peers and management while keeping production flowing and meeting due dates
Demonstrated proficiency to achieve high quality results
Proficient with engineering software (AutoCAD, etc.) and ERP systems in quote development
Significant project / program management experience
Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
