New GradMu-Del Electronics is looking for a Machinist Apprentice to operate a variety of machines within its metalwork machine shop. The role involves operating CNC mills, checking quality of finished parts, and maintaining dimensional logs for all work performed.

Responsibilities
Machine parts to specifications using equipment such as power saws, mill, lathe, drills, and grinders
Set up, adjust, and operate all typical machining tools including CNC equipment
Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
Layout, measure, and prepare stock for part manufacture
Interpret engineering drawings and specification to ensure proper fabrication of product
Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to maintain proper working operation
Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specification, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauge, depth gauge, etc
Train and conform to company procedures, including maintaining and drafting machine shop operational procedures and practices
Maintain inventory of shop supplies and materials
Clean and deburr all finished parts
Identify inserts, cutters, and general tooling for specific operations
Perform daily cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery
Job may change over time in accordance with business needs
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED equivalency
Work experience with shop math proficiency and strong mechanical aptitude is appreciated; basic math skills required
Green Card holders or US Citizens only
Preferred
Self-starter with good customer service skills and a pleasant demeanor, with the ability to maintain a good working relationship with staff
Ability to maintain a high level of attention to accuracy and details with the ability to use discretion and good judgment
Safely operate various types of machinery used in the trade
A candidate needs to possess openness to learning new skills and collaborating with other team members to create solutions
Multitasker (able to keep several processes running at once)
Strong communication skills
Ability & drive to learn new skills & manufacturing techniques at an accelerated pace
