Teaching of related courses in the curriculum may also be required depending upon the candidate’s area of expertise and the needs of the department
Participation in the senior design course is expected
Qualification
Required
B.S. in an engineering field from an accredited institution
Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field from an accredited institution by the start date of employment
Potential for complementary and interdisciplinary research activities
Potential to develop and maintain an externally-funded research program leading to national recognition
Potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly activities
Potential to teach core courses and develop new courses related to area of expertise
Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed scholarship
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred
B.S. in Civil Engineering or closely related field
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
Industry experience
Experience with physical testing and/or modeling of construction materials
A track record of excellence in teaching
Evidence of grantsmanship, research, and scholarly activities
Evidence of professional and scholarly services
