Engineering Technician I
City of Virginia Beach is seeking an Engineering Technician I to provide technical support to Engineering staff for various water and sanitary sewer related projects. The role involves assisting with data entry, preliminary design, technical research, and preparation of technical reports, as well as performing basic engineering calculations and fieldwork.

Responsibilities
Assist with data entry, preliminary design, technical research, planning, analyses, and preparation of technical reports
Analyze and transform data using ArcGIS, hydraulic modeling software, Python, R, Microsoft Office, CMMS and other relatable databases
Research and interpret data from record drawings and specifications
Research public and Private utility data
Perform basic engineering calculations, field work, and other duties assigned by supervisor
Qualification
Required
High school or GED plus two (2) years' experience in a related field such as civil engineering, drafting, surveying, or planning
Demonstrated CADD/GIS/computer experience
Any equivalent combination of experience and formal training that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Benefits
