ServiceNow Lead Developer / Architect

JPS Tech Solutions is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Lead Developer / Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-level ServiceNow solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and architectural vision while leading development teams and collaborating closely with business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead the overall architecture, design, and development of ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules
Act as the technical authority for ServiceNow platform implementation, customization, and optimization
Design scalable and maintainable solutions aligned with ServiceNow best practices and organizational standards
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to ServiceNow developers and administrators
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and project managers to gather and refine requirements
Lead and review development activities including scripting, workflows, business rules, UI policies, and client/server scripts
Ensure platform security, performance, and compliance with enterprise governance standards
Architect and implement integrations with third-party systems using REST, SOAP, MID Server, and APIs
Manage upgrades, patches, and platform enhancements with minimal business disruption
Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and quality assurance practices
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide root cause analysis
Support ServiceNow roadmap planning, platform strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives
Prepare technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational guides

Required

12+ years of overall IT experience with at least 8+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development
Proven experience as a ServiceNow Lead Developer or Architect in large enterprise environments
Strong expertise in core ServiceNow modules such as ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change, Request), CMDB and CSDM, ITOM or ITAM (preferred but not mandatory)
Extensive experience with ServiceNow scripting: JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies and UI Actions
Solid understanding of ServiceNow architecture, data model, security, and ACLs
Experience designing and implementing complex workflows and Flow Designer solutions
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and MID Server
Strong understanding of ServiceNow upgrade strategy and platform lifecycle management
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and lead technical teams in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist, Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or progress toward CTA
Experience with additional ServiceNow modules: HRSD, SecOps, GRC, Custom application development
Knowledge of CMDB best practices and CSDM framework implementation
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow
Experience with Performance Analytics and ServiceNow reporting
Prior experience working with large-scale enterprise or government clients is a plus
