District Executive
Connecticut Rivers Council, Scouting America is dedicated to molding future leaders through educational activities and lifelong values. They are seeking a District Executive to recruit and develop volunteer management teams, maintain a professional working climate, and ensure the district achieves its mission.

Responsibilities
Recruits, develops, and maintains effective volunteer management teams
Maintains a professional working climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top-quality volunteers
Assures the district achieves its mission and makes consistent progress
Ensure that the flow of funds from the district helps the council to achieve its mission
Provides leadership and training to other staff in the council
The position will have key council assignments
Other job duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Strong interpersonal, written communication, and verbal presentation skills
Proven FOS success and skills in community organization
Individuals should understand the process to identify potential upper-level prospects and have the skill set to engage other volunteers to approach potential prospects
Effective in managing membership and new unit organization to achieve growth consistently, with attention to the retention of units and youth
Ability to manage functioning districts at a high level of operation and effectively utilize the annual nominating committee process
Prior experience in Scouting, not limited to 3 years or more successful experience as a District Executive or Senior District Executive
Completion of District Operations Training and Commissioning
Well-organized, detail-oriented, and polished staff leadership skills
Excellent analytical skills with a proven commitment to accuracy and timeliness
Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
Must possess a focus on continuous improvement and growth, both within the organization and with self
A flexible schedule is frequently required for evening/weekend events
Team player, positive attitude, and willing to learn
Eligible for employment in the United States of America and commission from the Boy Scouts of America
Commissioned-District Operations
Valid State Driver's License
Preferred
Experience working with Scoutreach units and leadership is preferred
