Responsibilities
Categorize transactions and maintain up-to-date books
Manage accounts payable: input bills, coordinate approvals, schedule payments
Manage accounts receivable: prepare and send invoices, track collections
Create projects & purchase orders in QBO
Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts
Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Review month-end closing checklist
Provide budget vs. actual or ad-hoc financial reports
Ensure proper document storage (receipts, statements, vendor files)
Work with CPA on tax filings and audit support
Prepare clean year-end books and adjusting entries
Review payroll summaries and employee/contractor filings
Qualification
Required
3–5+ years professional bookkeeping experience
Strong QuickBooks Online expertise
Understanding of accrual and cash-basis accounting
Experience with small-business workflows and internal controls
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly
All candidates must currently reside within a 25 mile radius of Houston, TX. This job is a hybrid position with 1-3 days in office
Preferred
Experience with: Gusto or ADP payroll software
Experience with ClickUp
Experience in electrical or other industrial equipment industries
Multi-entity or multi-class accounting
