ISD Human Resources Administrator - Promotional
Sonoma County Public Infrastructure is seeking an ISD Human Resources Administrator. This role involves supervising administrative staff and managing various human resources functions, including recruitment and employee onboarding.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Providing direct supervision to four administrative staff, overseeing and coordinating administrative operations, including accounts payable, payroll, safety, facilities management, and general administrative services
Managing human resources functions such as recruitment, employee onboarding, and the administration of all employee leave programs
Participating in strategic planning initiatives for the Administrative Division
Ensuring oversight and compliance with the department’s performance evaluation scheduling process
Participating in countywide initiatives related to employee engagement and racial equity, including co-designing department-wide plans, new initiatives, and action steps
Working closely with direct-report staff, providing daily guidance, direction, and support
Making independent decisions regarding day-to-day operations, while consulting with the ASO II on structural team changes, job responsibilities, and staffing needs
Participating in disciplinary processes under the guidance of the ASO II
Qualification
Required
Must presently be a full or part-time regular or probationary County of Sonoma, Community Development Commission, Sonoma County Fairgrounds, or Sonoma County Water Agency employee in order to apply for this position
Two years of progressively responsible experience in a professional, human resources, administrative or fiscal staff position
Experience supervising professional, administrative or technical staff
Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including necessary special endorsements, as required by the State of California to perform the essential job functions of the position
Preferred
Advanced knowledge of human resources functions and services, particularly within the County of Sonoma
Training in effective communication, emotional intelligence, and racial equity foundations
Experience in coaching and supervising a team, and the ability to build strong working relationships
Intermediate MS Office skills, including Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
Experience with NeoGov, HRIS, UKG, and EFS
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
The ability to work in a demanding, ever-changing work environment where priorities shift regularly
