Responsibilities
Blend of performance DBA & application developer skillset - Experience in application development that helps with understanding how to tune application queries
Experience in ORACLE 19c (such as Oracle optimizer, explain plans, SQL plans, hints, TKPROF, traces, structures)
Knowledge of Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC)
Experience in SQL and optimizing queries
Experience in developing PL/SQL and optimize PL/SQL code
Experience in optimizing database structures (indexes, Primary/Foreign keys, tables structures)
Some Java experience is preferred, but not required
Core Responsibility - Running batch jobs and looking at batch job optimization, SQL code that runs and gathers up a bunch of records, trying to streamline that with hints, explain plans, etc
Tools - SQLPLUS and PL/SQL
Knowledge of procedure/packages/triggers
Knowledge of SQL profiles and baselines
Oracle Scripting in Unix a plus
SQLDeveloper
Experience in OEM
Using ASH and AWR reports (or even manually generating ASH and AWR reports)
Monitoring (or even monitoring with scripts)
