RCM Specialist

KO Consulting, Inc. is seeking an RCM Specialist to manage the revenue cycle for their clients. The role involves handling unpaid claims, monitoring denial trends, and ensuring compliance with coding and billing guidelines.

Responsibilities

Timely management of unpaid claims, aging reports, clearinghouse and PM rejections
Effectively handle complex payer denials; investigate and appeal; ensure secondary claims are processed and paid
Monitor and reconcile claims, including: denial trends, patient balance report, manage and track information requests to client
Review and validate outgoing charges
Process/apply incoming payments; follow-up on missed payments; recover short/lost payments; resolve financial discrepancies
Oversight of insurance company updates, submission of W-9 tax forms
Monitor, sort and distribute correspondence received in lockboxes
Understand and apply current coding rules; use coded data to enter charges for multiple specialties
Process and send statements as requested
Demonstrate understanding of billing procedures through verifying accuracy of all patient encounter forms submitted for processing or billing, including modifiers, bundled codes, globals, CCI edits, etc
May act as partner for new hires to assist with onboarding process
Keep current with government coding and billing guidelines and procedures, incentive programs, and federal/state/commercial payer initiatives
Meet benchmarks for data entry accuracy
Comply with and enforce all company and client policies and procedures
Apply subject expertise in evaluating client business operations and processes
Perform other duties and projects as needed, outlined by management

Required

Minimum 2 years of RCM experience in the cardiology specialty
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (Epic and/or Greenway Primesuite and/or eClinicalWorks preferred), and Microsoft Office programs, including strong Microsoft Excel skills
Understanding of how to interpret an explanation of benefits (EOB)
Knowledge of RCM lifecycle
Proven reliability and experience with confidential and sensitive information
Effective customer service, verbal and written communications skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and with a team within a remote work environment
