Responsibilities
Conduct thorough file reviews, including medical records, police reports, photos, and treatment summaries to identify inconsistencies and gaps
Coordinate with medical providers and medical records vendors to obtain missing or incomplete documentation
Draft demand letters, counter-offers, settlement summaries, and negotiation follow-up correspondence with precision and persuasive language
Engage in direct settlement negotiations with insurance adjusters, advocating effectively for case value
Evaluate case value based on medical evidence, liability strength, and policy limits
Maintain consistent follow-up with adjusters, medical providers, clients, and lienholders throughout the negotiation process
Manage denials, low offers, and disputed liability scenarios by analyzing weaknesses and developing strategic responses
Prepare comprehensive settlement memos and coordinate documentation to ensure proper file organization before disbursement
Communicate proactively with clients regarding settlement offers, case updates, and next steps
Review police reports, photographs, medical records, and adjuster notes to catch discrepancies that impact settlement value
Prepare case files for potential litigation when settlement negotiations are unsuccessful
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2+ years of personal injury legal experience (defense or plaintiff-side)
Proven ability to draft demand letters and professional legal correspondence
Experience negotiating directly with insurance adjusters
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate case value
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies in complex documents
Professional communication skills with clients, adjusters, and providers
Ability to work independently while maintaining team collaboration
Preferred
Experience with legal settlement software or case management systems
Familiarity with Texas personal injury litigation procedures
Experience managing high-volume caseloads in a team environment
Background in medical records organization and healthcare documentation
