Providing a welcoming, high quality and supportive hospital experience for patients, families, visitors and staff at MCHS and general Volunteer Services Department
Making independent decisions in judgment using general guidelines provided by department director
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience in management, communications, leadership, organizational, or related field
Experience with supervision of volunteers
Must speak, read and write English
Strong organizational skills required
Demonstrate compassion and be able to connect with families in crisis situations
Computer experience required with knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel
Good written and oral communication skills, (verbal, interpersonal and written formats)
Hands-on experience in leadership management, conflict management, resolution and ability to handle high levels of stress
Three years' experience in a volunteer, non-profit or healthcare organization with knowledge of community preferred
Must attend Leadership Odessa and belong to least two volunteer management affiliations and or organizations
Ability to write and give internal and external presentations to various type, size and gender-based organizations
Ability to be self-motivating and able to work without direct supervision
Ability to relate to persons of all ages from diverse backgrounds and with diverse skills
Preferred
Previous knowledge of hospital guest relations, retail and or invoices, billing, experience in working with supervision and management of volunteers is preferred
