Industrial Safety Engineer

Responsibilities
Document, train, and certifie company personnel in best practices and in those required for safe operations, including electrical work, energy isolation (lockout/tagout), working at heights, and the use of power tools and machinery, among others
Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the validity of all safety related certifications and training records for company personnel, including their own
Assists the EHS Compliance Manager or Safety Coordinator in administrative processes related to instructor registration, course management, and certification tracking
Acts as the company’s Safety Representative before the Client, managing access permits, participating in safety meetings, addressing client specific operational safety requirements, and representing the company whenever the client requests the designated safety representative
Responsible for preparing and maintaining all occupational safety documentation required by clients or contractual obligations. This documentation must remain current and compliant with applicable OSHA standards, federal, and state regulations
Responsible for developing, validating, and registering the company’s Emergency Response and Evacuation Plan for each facility
Serves as the technical liaison with local fire departments, emergency management agencies, and other relevant authorities, supporting the company’s Legal Representative in addressing official safety requirements
Verifies the safe operating condition of all tools and equipment used for installation, assembly, and/or service work before they are sent to job sites
Maintains an updated inventory of safety-related materials and equipment required for field operations, ensuring the correct type and quantity are available as needed
Investigates accidents and near-miss incidents to determine root causes, providing accurate information for administrative claims or workers’ compensation processes
Recommends corrective actions, improvement opportunities, and new preventive measures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor degree in Engineering or Science
English proficiency B2 (Spoken and written)
Must be willing to travel frequently between Texas, Michigan and Tennessee to support project and client site operations
Must hold a TN visa or B1/B2 visa
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations
Knowledge of Safety Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA-S) methodology
Understanding of relevant standards for robotics and moving machinery (ANSI/RIA)
Experience in industrial environments and plant startup activities (pre-task analysis)
Understanding of industrial automation equipment and technologies
Ability to document, supervise, and provide instruction to third parties
