ASSOCIATE ACCOUNTING ANALYST

The Department of Transportation is responsible for improving lives and communities through transportation. They are seeking an Associate Accounting Analyst to provide full accounting and financial services, perform complex analytical duties, and manage budgetary and financial reporting activities for the Department of Transportation Bond Funds.

Providing full accounting and financial services
Performing highly complex analytical duties
Responsible for the budgetary and financial reporting activities of the Department of Transportation Bond Funds
Accurate recording, reconciliation and reporting of accounting general ledgers and appropriations within the funds assigned
Maintaining the proper internal controls

Required

Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle
Transcript is required
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation that indicates the number of units and degree to which the foreign coursework is equivalent

Preferred

Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement preparation
Knowledge of California State budget, SAM, UCM and Government Code
Excellent written and communication skills
Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
Ability to establish workload priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations and procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and other computer applications
Self-driven, reliable, and a positive attitude
