Cloud Migration Engineer
Oxenham Group is seeking a Cloud Migration Engineer to assist customers in transitioning workloads to AWS native services. The role involves planning and executing migrations, modernizing applications, and collaborating with technical leads to ensure successful cloud transitions.

Responsibilities
Apply AWS migration frameworks and tools to evaluate current environments and lead the migration of workloads into AWS
Architect, implement, and support resilient and scalable cloud infrastructure
Coordinate with engineering, operations, and security stakeholders to ensure smooth end-to-end migration of applications and systems
Use services such as AWS Migration Hub (MGN) and Database Migration Service (DMS) to execute migration activities
Configure and manage AWS services including compute, containers, networking, storage, and serverless components
Create automation and infrastructure-as-code templates (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation) to provision and manage cloud resources
Monitor cloud environments for performance, efficiency, and cost effectiveness, implementing improvements as needed
Offer technical coaching and direction to customer engineering teams adopting AWS services
Work with security teams to ensure proper access controls, encryption, monitoring, and other security safeguards are in place
Assist with incident response and diagnosis of cloud infrastructure issues to ensure system reliability
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years' experience building and supporting AWS infrastructure
At least 2 years of recent, hands-on experience with AWS migration tools such as MGN, DMS, and other AWS migration services
Demonstrated experience planning and delivering AWS migration projects, including Mobilize and Migrate phases
Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
Ability to support multiple client engagements simultaneously
Broad understanding of AWS core services and underlying cloud infrastructure
Scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools
2+ years using IaC automation solutions such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Preferred
Experience with monitoring, logging, and analytics platforms
Knowledge of virtualization, containers, and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Understanding of networking principles such as VPC design, subnets, load balancers, and DNS
Familiarity with cloud security standards including IAM, encryption, and security group configurations
Background in database or data platform management (ETL pipelines, SQL tuning, data integration)
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB, Cassandra)
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for cloud infrastructure and data pipeline issues
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams
Interest in staying current with new cloud technologies and best practices
Knowledge of Agile or Scrum development methodologies
Ability to work an Eastern Time schedule while supporting customers in multiple geographies
AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification
Familiarity with VMware-based virtual machine environments
Exposure to cloud financial management, including cost-optimization strategies and tooling
