Senior Civil / Structural Engineer Nuclear - Strategic Projects

The Senior Civil / Structural Engineer will provide technical support for the Nuclear Strategic Projects Balance of Plant department, specifically for the Salem Power Uprate Project, responsible for designing and implementing civil and structural modifications.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership to ensure plant modifications and project activities comply with structural engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
Interface with Project Manager, contractors and engineering staff to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals
Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification
Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis
Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Balance of Plant Engineering Manager
Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization

Required

BS Degree in Structural / Civil Engineering or related Engineering / Technical degree
Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural / civil engineering
Availability for shift work during installation
Must meet nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access
Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record
A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (see https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this position by May 7, 2027
Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required

Preferred

Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)
Experience in the nuclear or relevant industry performing Structural/seismic design/analysis
Knowledge of AISC & ACI design codes, NRC requirements for safety-related structures, and software analysis tools such as GT Strudl or equivalent
Experience with AutoPIPE, Stran, or Relap software programs
Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualifications
Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
