Basketball Marketing & Outreach Lead (Email + Growth) — Commission Only
Wisely Optimize is a basketball analytics company that helps coaching staffs make actionable decisions regarding roster construction. They are seeking a Basketball Marketing & Outreach Lead to manage coach outreach and email marketing, build a coaching database, and improve messaging based on responses from various programs.

Responsibilities
Own our coach outreach + email marketing
Run outbound email campaigns to coaches and staff across D1, D2, D3 (men’s + women’s)
Write and iterate messaging that gets replies (subject lines, sequences, follow-ups, CTAs)
Track results weekly (reply rates, booked calls, conversions) and continuously improve
Partner with the founder to refine positioning, offers, and what coaches actually care about—building clear ICPs/personas for the ideal programs and staff roles we want to serve
Build Wisely Optimize’s coaching database (the engine behind everything)
Create and maintain a clean database of coaching staffs nationwide (roles/titles, program info, contact paths, notes)
Segment lists intelligently (division, conference, staff role, roster needs, coaching style, etc.)
Keep it organized and current so outreach can scale without chaos
Create a repeatable system for updates and quality control (so we’re not rebuilding every season)
Consistent weekly outreach activity that produces measurable pipeline: replies → calls → closes
A growing, well-organized coaching staff database that makes outreach faster and more personalized every week
Continuous improvement in messaging based on what different programs respond to
You develop real Basketball Ops instincts by learning the landscape of staffs across the country
Qualification
Required
You love basketball and want to build something that impacts the sport (non-negotiable)
Go-getter mentality: you take ownership, move fast, and follow through
Strong written communication (you can write emails that feel human and get responses)
Comfort working with goals/metrics and iterating quickly
Background in marketing, business, sales, or communications is ideal (not required)
Preferred
Basketball Operations experience (team, program, recruiting, analytics, GA/video, etc.)
Social media experience (content ideas, outreach/DMs, brand voice, basic design tools)
CRM familiarity (HubSpot, Notion, Airtable, etc.)
Experience with email sequencing tools (HubSpot sequences, Apollo, Mailshake, etc.)
