Defense Maritime Associate Project Engineer 1 (Onsite)

Collins Aerospace is looking for an Associate Project Engineer to join their Mission Systems team in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. This role involves assisting in the development of design solutions for complex thermal-fluidic and electromechanical equipment, while also participating in project management and customer communication to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

You will have direct communication with customers, suppliers and internal Integrated Product Development Team (IPDT) – including daily tag-ups, weekly meetings, and quarterly meetings
You will assist in planning, scheduling, coordination and facilitation of meetings required for the project, as well as capture and publish meeting minutes and track, publish, and coordinate closure of action items
You will travel up to 30% periodically to support program needs
You will aid in coordination, tracking and driving to closure tasks that must be completed by the cross-functional team to meet contractual, technical, regulatory, budget, and schedule requirements as part of product development
You will process documentation, such as engineering changes, required as part of design, development, production and maintenance efforts
You will participate in providing customer occasional field support, which may include short-duration assists on deployed nuclear submarines

Required

Requires a Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred

Preferred educational background/focus in Systems, Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering
Experience using a CAD and product data management tool such as Creo and Windchill
Familiarity with the engineering design/development process
Ability to read CAD drawing with understanding of Geometric Design and Tolerancing
Experience with systems containing valves, pumps, compressors, fans, heat exchangers, mixers, separators, sensors, and storage tanks
Previous submarine or spacecraft equipment experience
Previous knowledge and/or experience with U.S. Navy air revitalization systems and power management systems
