Responsibilities
Lead accounting and financial operations including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for multiple projects
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Manage and optimize the use of the company’s ERP system, preferably Sage
Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and best practices
Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including performance management and development
Partner with the CEO and executive leadership on financial strategy and decision-making
Support project accounting, cost tracking, WIP reporting, and job cost analysis
Coordinate with external partners including auditors, tax advisors, and banks
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax, and regulatory requirements
Drive process improvements to support scalability and operational efficiency
Qualification
Required
10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong working knowledge of project accounting and job costing
Hands-on experience with Sage ERP or similar systems
Proven people leadership experience managing accounting teams
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, in-office environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership
High attention to detail with a strategic, forward-thinking mindset
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
CPA strongly preferred
Experience in construction, engineering, architecture, or professional services environments
Experience with financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
Experience in month-end and general ledger processes
