Oil and Gas Inspector
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a committed Oil and Gas Inspector to join their team in the Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Oil and Gas. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and conducting inspections related to oil and gas operations to protect the state's natural resources.

Responsibilities
Overseeing monitoring and compliance activities within a designated geographic area
Ensuring adherence to several key regulations, including the Coal and Gas Resource Coordination Act, the Oil and Gas Act, the Oil and Gas Conservation Law, the Clean Streams Law, and relevant chapters of the Environmental Quality Board's Rules and Regulations
Follow departmental policies related to safety, including guidelines for protective gear and exposure control
Assessing hazardous atmospheres that may arise from gas presence
Conducting field inspections throughout the various phases of oil and gas wells, including drilling, production, and plugging
Verifying compliance with laws, checking permit validity, and ensuring proper drilling locations
Investigating spills and gas releases
Collecting necessary samples and data to confirm compliance
Documenting findings
Filing inspection reports
Entering results into the eFacts system
Sending copies to operators
Taking follow-up actions as needed
Evaluating proposed school sites for potential hazards related to active or abandoned oil and gas wells
Qualification
Required
Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry; or
An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license
You must be able to perform essential job functions
