Responsibilities
Designing, configuring, operating, and optimizing the core analytics and data platform with Databricks as a central component
Owning the technical foundation of the data platform, including Databricks workspace setup, cluster management, security and access controls, and integration with BI and analytics tools
Establishing and enforcing platform standards and best practices for Databricks usage, development workflows, and operational hygiene
Qualification
Required
Deep hands on experience administering and operating Databricks environments, including workspace configuration, cluster policies, job configuration, and environment management
Strong expertise in Databricks performance tuning, reliability, and cost optimization, including cluster sizing, autoscaling strategies, and workload isolation
Experience implementing Databricks security and governance capabilities such as identity and access management, data access controls, and environment separation
Ability to establish and enforce platform standards and best practices for Databricks usage, development workflows, and operational hygiene
Experience integrating Databricks with downstream analytics and BI tools such as Zoho, Qlik, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of cloud based data platform infrastructure concepts including storage layers, networking, and security controls
Solid hands on experience with data ingestion, ETL or ELT pipelines, and orchestration frameworks running on Databricks
Practical experience building and supporting scalable data transformation and modeling workloads using Spark based technologies
Understanding of data quality, reliability, and operational monitoring as it relates to platform workloads
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Typically 5 to 8 years of experience in data platform engineering, data engineering, or analytics infrastructure roles
Demonstrated experience operating production Databricks platforms that support multiple teams and workloads
Preferred
Experience implementing CI/CD patterns for Databricks notebooks, jobs, and configurations
Familiarity with modern data platform observability, logging, and monitoring tools
Experience supporting lakehouse architectures and open table formats
Exposure to governance and metadata management capabilities within Databricks
Experience working in greenfield or evolving analytics platform environments
