Campbell University is seeking an Assistant Dean for Osteopathic Integration for the Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine. Responsibilities

Responsible for both individual and team-teaching disciplines relative to expertise (and related responsibilities) to Osteopathic medical students
Demonstrates an active and consistent commitment to the mission of CUSOM
Develops, implements, and evaluates a strategic plan for the clinical mission for the School of Osteopathic Medicine which supports and advances the Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision of CUSOM relative to integration of OMM. The incumbent must provide for integration of osteopathic philosophy, principles and practices, including didactic and hands-on opportunities, through each year of the curriculum
Serves as the liaison between the students and the Dean
Recruits faculty/staff and promotes academic/research excellence among faculty and students
Provides administrative oversight to the OMM clinical faculty during all four years of the CUSOM DO curriculum
Facilitates faculty development in education, research, and service
Develops and coordinates programs and resources to assist and promote faculty growth, development, and accomplishments in the fields of clinical education, clinical research, professional and clinical service, including, but not limited to, continuing medical education conferences and events
Assures integration of osteopathic principles in the CUSOM DO curriculum
Provides information relevant to the appointment process for all CUSOM OMM faculty members and staff
Works in cooperation with the CUSOM Curriculum Committee, Block Leaders, Course Directors and other CUSOM faculty to develop the curriculum and syllabi for CUSOM students, schedule courses, assign teaching, develop exam questions and other assessment tools, develop remediation plans, evaluate assessment outcomes, and implement a continuous quality assessment and improvement system for all four years of the CUSOM DO curriculum
Evaluates need-based purchases for faculty pertaining to audio-visual aids, travel, faculty development materials, teaching materials and aids, and any other related products
Evaluates need-based items for successful curriculum delivery pertaining to audio-visual aids, teaching materials and aids, faculty development materials, faculty travel, and any other related resources for the curriculum delivery in Years 1 and 2 of the CUSOM DO curriculum
Assists in developing the annual budget for OMM integration at CUSOM in collaboration with Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, Chair of OMM, Directors of Student Medical Education, Designated Instructional Official, and the Business Office Manager. Reviews the budget on a regular basis to ensure adequate funding for delivery of all four years of the OMM curriculum to CUSOM students
Conducts and provides the annual evaluation of the OMM Department Chair and facilitates the annual evaluation of each OMM faculty member
Assists in the annual evaluation of each OMM faculty and the evaluation of adjunct OMM faculty (referred to as “table trainers”)
Participates in faculty meetings and CUSOM DO, DBH, MSBS, and University Committees as assigned
Assures the advancement and integration of high standards for ethical and professional behavior in all aspects of the education of the students of CUSOM and actions of the administration, faculty, and staff
Maintains a national presence within the biomedical profession and professional societies
Works collaboratively with the other Deans and administration within CUSOM
Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Demonstrates an active and consistent commitment to the missions of both CUSOM and Campbell University
Upholds and abides by Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, Title IX, HIPAA, and FERPA guidelines

Required

An earned DO from a COCA accredited college of osteopathic medicine
Valid medical license and ability to obtain North Carolina licensure
Three years of successful academic experience in a medical school as an OMM faculty member with preference given to applicants with experience as an OMM Department Chair or higher
Commitment to University values

Experience working with local, state, regional, and national federal agency heads and educational committees at the state and federal level

Preferred

Preferred AOA board-certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine or have received a Certificate of Special Proficiency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (C-SPOMM)
Preferred track record in teaching and leadership from an accredited medical school
Be a member in good standing in all appropriate professional and governmental organizations
