Responsibilities
Own the overall technical architecture of Revive’s platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability
Set and uphold engineering standards across frontend, backend, APIs, and data systems
Make high-impact technical decisions around system design, service boundaries, data models, and integrations
Maintain deep familiarity with the existing codebase and actively contribute where appropriate
Own the design and evolution of APIs and backend services that support multiple products and workflows
Establish and enforce a high bar for code quality, testing, documentation, and production readiness
Review complex pull requests and architectural changes, providing clear and constructive technical guidance
Own the development and deployment pipeline, including CI/CD, environments, and release processes
Ensure production systems are stable, observable, and resilient through monitoring, logging, and alerting
Lead incident response and post-mortems with a focus on root-cause analysis and systemic improvement
Balance speed and reliability by setting clear expectations for delivery and technical risk
Lead, mentor, and develop senior engineers and engineering managers
Drive hiring, onboarding, and technical evaluation to build a high-ownership engineering team
Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Operations to translate business priorities into technical execution
Ensure engineering systems support accurate data collection, analytics, and reporting
Use metrics and insights to inform architectural decisions, prioritization, and capacity planning
Identify and proactively address technical debt and long-term scalability risks
Qualification
Required
8–12+ years of professional software engineering experience
3+ years in an engineering leadership role (Director, Senior Manager, or equivalent)
Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript / TypeScript in production environments
Deep experience with Node.js, Express, and backend service architecture
Strong familiarity with React, Next.js, and modern frontend architectures
Proven experience designing and maintaining APIs and data-driven systems
Experience owning production systems, including deployments, monitoring, and incident response
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and modern deployment practices
Experience leading code reviews, setting engineering standards, and managing technical debt
