Network Engineer

Responsibilities
Design, integration and modernization of communications system networks including leveraging new technologies to enhance performance, expand connectivity and data rates and introduce new capabilities
Create IP network designs for telecommunications backhaul with routers, switches and gateways, document in network diagrams and system topologies
Troubleshooting issues in existing IP networks transported on wired or wireless/microwave links
Configuring & lab testing new network components
Collaboration with core network operations team on IP addressing, port assignments
Submit change requests in change management system
Gather customer requirements, determine issues, developing solutions, support procurement and implementation of communications systems
Create executive briefings, presentations to stakeholders, written memorandums, and white papers
Qualification
Required
BSEE/BSCE/BSCS or equivalent BS degree
7+ years' experience in IP networking applicable to job responsibilities
Experience reviewing, evaluating & modifying vendor network designs
Experience troubleshooting wired and wireless IP networks
Must have active DOD Secret clearance or DHS Tier 2 BI with up-to-date investigation
Preferred
Experience or familiarity with microwave or wireless mesh networks is a plus
