Field Supervisor

Osmose is responsible for building, developing and supporting teams of crew leaders, inspectors, and crew members to execute work on assigned projects. The Field Supervisor will monitor crew performance in safety, quality, and productivity while managing and developing team members.

Responsibilities

Promote the company's safety culture, image, and the belief that all injuries and accidents are preventable. Train and supervise field crews to be aware of and avoid workplace hazards. Issue, inspect, and replace required PPE. Monitor driving habits of those authorized to drive company vehicles. Verify safe work practices and PPE compliance, conduct daily safety briefings with all members of the crew
Train, equip and supervise field crews to consistently perform high quality work. Ensure that the work we do in the field meets the specification of each contract. To verify quality workmanship, conduct at least one (1) or more Quality Controls per Crew Leader/Crew per week
Provide field crew personnel with the procedures, processes, tools and knowledge necessary to meet and exceed productivity goals. Ensure assigned crews work a full week with a full crew. Develop work practices and weekly crew schedules to carry out field operations as efficiently as possible and aligned with the project schedule
Develop and retain qualified people to satisfy crew capacity needs. Hire and effectively manage and retain crew members. Effectively manage employee's career paths. Maintain full crews consistently
Motivate and manage their team, providing guidance, instruction, and feedback to ensure a positive and effective work environment. Manage Apprentice career path with goal of promotion to Foreman as their training completion and practical demonstrations allow
Monitor and maintain proper levels of spending on expense items such as fuel, lodging, vehicle maintenance, tools, supplies, storage, etc. Submit timely and accurate crew payrolls and expenditures on a weekly basis
Contribute to other projects and plans, not specifically noted, necessary to reach the objectives of the Region and Company
Complete all paperwork and provide prompt communication associated with keeping management and customers informed about crew activities

Required

Ability to effectively use technology such as tablet computers and web applications
Must be organized and have excellent communication skills
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory or leadership position
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, capacity, volume and crew KPI metrics
Demonstrated supervisory ability, skills, and potential. Exhibit aptitude and desire for management, employee development, and the ability to motivate others
Willing to travel overnight and work varied hours when necessary; willingness to relocate to City, State, or surrounding area
Must enforce and comply with Company policies including but not limited to a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace, and prohibition of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
Embrace core values of the Company

Preferred

Working knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code and/or California General Order-95 preferred, but not required
